Print and copy

Print, copy and scan your documents

eduPrint

eduPrint is Uppsala University's central printing system. It is a follow-print-system, meaning that you can fetch your print-out at any one of the eduPrint printers at the university. When you arrive at the printer you log in either with university-id and password A or with your Campus card. The first time you place your Campus card on the printer you are asked to connect it to your account by entering your university-id and password on the display.

eduPrint has been procured together by 13 participating universities, who cooperate on management and further development.

Of course you can also copy and scan on the printers. Everyone can scan to e-mail, employee can scan to file share and to Sunet Box and students can scan to any of five available cloud storages. Students and library visitors are required to pay for their print-out and document scans. For all employees except those on the "Övrig verksam mini" plan, printouts and document scanning are included in the IT fee up to a certain amount. You can find out more about what is included in the IT fee here.

The eduPrint printers come in two sizes, one larger model that supports both A3 and A4 paper size and equipped with stapling functionality, and one smaller model with only A4 printing and no built-in stapling. Both models have print, copy and scan functions in both colour/black & white and single- and double sided printing, copying and scanning.

Note! You cannot print directly to eduPrint printers unless you are connected to the University’s wired network or the wireless network Eduroam. Using another network, e.g. UU-Guest or at home you may instead email your print-outs or upload them in the eduPrint portal.

With eduPrint there are multiple options on how to print:

  • Print from computer
  • Print from mobile device
  • Email your documents to eduPrint
  • Upload documents for printing in the eduPrint-portal, eduprint.uu.se

More information on printing can be found here.

The eduPrint printers also have multiple scanning options:

  • Scan to email
  • Scan to folder
  • Scan to Sunet Box cloud storage service

More information on scanning can be found here.

Price adjustment 1 August 2021

Prices for printing using eduPrint have remained unchanged since the introduction during 2017. However, the costs for printing have increased over time, which is why an adjustment of the prices in eduPrint is necessary. In addition, the total number of printed pages decreases every year, while the number of scanned documents keeps rising. Because document scanning and document printing cost about the same and causes the same amount of wear and tear on the printers, it is also necessary to introduce a fee for scanned pages. The fee for document scanning will be activated on August 1st.

Pricelist for printing - Valid until 31 July 2021

eduPrint has three levels for pricing; one for employees, one for students and one for visitors without an account at Uppsala University, for example the public visiting the university's libraries.

New price list, valid from 1 augusti 2021

eduPrint has three levels for pricing; one for employees, one for students and one for visitors without an account at Uppsala University, for example the public visiting the university's libraries.

How do I pay for my print-outs?
If you are a student or a visitor you need to top up your eduPrint account with money before printing or copying. You do this in the eduPrint portal either by following the link "Add Credit" in the left menu, or by following the link "Redeem Card" to redeem a printing voucher that you have bought. Employees MUST NOT add money themselves.

Students reach the eduPrint portal by this link and visitors by this one.

Where can I buy printing vouchers?

The printing vouchers are sold at the reception desks / service centers at BMC, Blåsenhus, Carolina Rediviva, Ekonomikum, Engelska parken, The Segerstedt Building and Ångström. The vouchers are sold in denominations of 20 SEK, 50 SEK, 100 SEK and 200 SEK. Please note that not all receptions / service centers may not sell vouchersof all denominations.

What do I do if the printer has run out of paper?

Paper is refilled by a service partner according to a schedule based on expected consumption for every printer. If the printer runs out of paper, you can refill it yourself if there is extra paper available by the printer. If there is no extra paper available, please contact the local campus management who is responsible for paper handling between the refills.
