Add permissions for a user
This instruction provide a step-by-step guide on how to give a user permission to use a group folder. You need to have the admin or owner role for the group folder to be able to manage permissions.
- Go to https://my.storage.uu.se/.
- Log in with your university ID (AKKA ID) and password A.
- Select “Storage”.
- Click “Edit” to the left of the group folder you want to add permissions to.
- Click on the “Access” tab.
- There are four permission levels. Select the tab of the permission you want to assign to the new user, in this example “Read & Write”.
Read & Write The user can read and modify all data in the group folder (the most commonly assigned permission). Only Read The user can read all data in the group folder, but not make any changes. Only Write The user can write data to the group folder, but not read anything. Admin The user can manage permissions for the group folder.
- Enter the university ID (AKKA ID) of the user you want to grant read and write permissions. Click on the blue icon with a person in it to search.

Find the user in the list of search results and confirm your selection by clicking on the green plus sign to the right of the name.
If you want to set a time limit for the permission, you can enter time details using the green arrow. The permissions will then automatically expire at the end of the period. -

- Click “Edit” to the left of the group folder you want to add permissions to.
- Click on the “Access” tab.

The permissions have now been assigned. It may take a few minutes for the permissions to be processed by the system.
Note that the group members assigned the permissions may need to restart their computers to gain access to the group folder.
Remove permissions for a user or user group
Follow the steps below to remove permissions for an existing user or user group.
- Go to https://my.storage.uu.se/.
- Log in with your university ID (AKKA ID) and password A.
- Select "Storage".
- Click “Edit” to the left of the group folder you want to add permissions to.
- Click on the “Access” tab.
- There are four permission levels. Select the tab of the permission level the user/group has, in this example “Read & Write”.
- In the "Active Members" list, find the user or user group whose permissions you want to remove. Click on the red minus sign to the right of the name.
- The permissions have now been removed. It may take a few minutes for the change in permissions to be processed by the system.
