Opportunities abroad for teachers and TA staff 

The Erasmus programme offers teachers and administrative staff funding for teaching or skills development abroad. It is also possible to invite teachers or staff from European universities as well as a number non-European universities for teaching or training at Uppsala University. The possibilities for skills development/teaching abroad that Erasmus programme are important for the internationalisation of Uppsala University.

Erasmus+ Mobility consits of two parts with different rules:

1. The Erasmus Programme within EU/Europe
   Participating countries in the programme are the 27 member states of the EU plus Iceland, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Liechtenstein and Norway. The UK will not be taking part in the new Erasmus programme starting 2021. Switzerland used to be a part of Erasmus, but has been excluded indefinitely.

   Teacher Exchange within EU/Europe
    
2. The Erasmus Programme outside of EU
   Uppsala University also has agreements with partner universities outside of EU within the so called International Credit Mobility programme, ICM.

PhD student mobility within the Erasmus programme

Within the framework of the Erasmus programme in the EU / Europe, doctoral students can go as students as well as staff. Even doctoral students who do not have formal employment can go out as staff if they can be considered to have worked for UU (eg if the doctoral student is involved in teaching and goes out to teach, this also applies to guest doctoral students).

Within the framework of the Erasmus programme outside the EU, doctoral students can go out for staff training / teacher exchange (link: Staff training / Teacher exchange outside the EU)

PhD exchange with Berkeley, University of California

This agreement offers doctoral students at Uppsala University (UU) and the Institute of European Studies (IES), at Berkeley, the opportunity to spend between one and three months at the other university, without IES's regular tuition fee. The goal is for two doctoral students per year from each higher education institution to participate in the exchange. Read more

UHR arrangerar informationsmöten om utbytestjänstgöring

Känner du till möjligheterna statsanställda har för utbytestjänstgöring? Att åka på en utbytesperiod till ett annat land eller till EU:s generaldirektorat ökar den internationella kompetensen i myndigheten. Det ger en unik chans till samarbete mellan olika länder och ökad kunskap om hur arbetet i EU fungerar. UHR bjuder in till informationsmöten om utbytestjänstgöring.

Informationsmöte för chefer/HR

Den 16 oktober bjuder UHR in dig som är chef eller HR-ansvarig i en statlig myndighet för att berätta om hur utbytestjänstgöring kan utveckla både myndigheten och dina medarbetare.

• 16 oktober kl 13.00 – 14.15: Vilka möjligheter finns det för utveckling av myndigheten genom utbytestjänstgöring. Du anmäler dig för att delta här.

Informationsmöten för medarbetare

Den 17 oktober bjuder UHR in dig som är medarbetare för att berätta om vilka möjlighet som finns för dig som vill utvecklas och öka din kompetens. Först presenterar de möjligheterna som finns vid EU-kommissionen, sedan handlar det om nordisk utbytestjänstgöring.

• 17 oktober kl 09.00 – 10.00: Om utbytestjänstgöring i Norden. Du anmäler dig för att delta här.
• 17 oktober kl 13.00 – 14.00: Om praktik och kurs vid EU-kommissionen. Du anmäler dig för att delta här.
