The KLARA system for handling of chemicals
KLARA is a chemical handling system in which departments or equivalent register their chemicals and can find safety data sheets and also retrieve reports on the chemicals they possess. KLARA also contains a module for inventory purposes.
The KLARA search engine permits product searches using, for example, product names, CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) numbers, article numbers and molecular structure.
Read more about the system on Product sheet.

Ernesto Vargas Catalan, Senior research engineer at Department of Materials Science and Engineering, myfab uppsala.
It is possible to look at parts of KLARA in an unlogged mode.
You find the KLARA system under Start/System at the Employee Portal (Medarbetarportalen). You must actively search for KLARA by clicking on the cogwheel and then search for KLARA in the scroll list. You can search for chemicals in the chemical register and get risk- and safety information and safety data sheets.
KLARA also has two advanced modules, for placing orders and bar-code management respectively. At the Department of Medical Chemistry, the Department of Chemistry/BMC (Uppsala Biomedical Centre) and the Department of Chemistry/Ångström Laboratory, which all have large numbers of chemicals, these advanced modules are already in use.
There are three documents that describes a bit about how to use those modules. See below.

On 28 January 2014 the Vice-Chancellor took the decision (here in Swedish) to introduce the KLARA system for handling of chemicals at the departments (or equivalent) where chemicals are handled. The system is owned by Nordic Port AB and used by several higher education institutions in Sweden.
