Supervising PhD students at Uppsala University

The Supervising PhD students course (course duration: 3 weeks) is provided by the Academic Teaching and Learning Unit at the Division for Quality Enhancement.

In addition to successful participation in the information seminar for supervisors, first-time principal supervisors at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy must also have completed the web-based course "Research Ethics for Postdocs and Researchers in Medicine". The course has been jointly developed by the seven faculties of medicine in Sweden and is recommended for all researchers employed by the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy. The contact point at Uppsala University is the Centre for Research & Bioethics (CRB).

Information on how to register for the course is available at: crb.uu.se/education/research-ethics-for-employees/.

A certificate showing that a new principal supervisor has completed both the information seminar for supervisors and the ethics course must be attached to the application documents when a new PhD student is admitted.
