- Initiate a rehab meeting.
- Review and make decisions regarding possible adaptations.
- Continue contact with occupational health services.
- Document the contact, assessments and decisions in Adato.
As the head of department/manager, you need to exhaust all possibilities to enable a return to regular work before determining more comprehensive adaptations or another placement. Enlist the help and support of an HR representative.
As a major employer, comprehensive obligations exist regarding work adaptation and rehabilitation. If an employee is unable to return to their regular role, it is important that different assessments of their work capacity are carried out. This may for example involve allowing the employee to try out a new role with the employer or, that occupational health services contribute with a more in-depth work capacity assessment. If, following several different rehabilitation attempts, the employee is assessed as being unable to perform any meaningful work for the employer, in certain cases this may lead to termination. If all attempts to return to work have been exhausted, and there is a risk that the employee may not be able to perform any work now or in the future, it is possible for Försäkringskassan to investigate the right to sickness compensation.
