Additional time/Overtime
Additional time and overtime
As an employee at Uppsala University working hours in excess of regular working time, you will be compensated with a remuneration for additional time or overtime.*.
Additional time means work that, in the context of part-time employment, exceeds the employee’s regular working time.
Overtime means work that, in the context of a full-time employment, exceeds the employee’s regular working time.
Work on overtime or additional time must have been authorized in advance by a manager or approved afterwards. This must also be done when the extra work is performed at another department/equivalent. The home department/equivalent must always approve of the extra work.
Additional time and overtime are reported using a special form. For technical and administrative staff, the reporting is done in Primula. The form states the time limits for compensation for additional hours as well as for compensation for both simple and qualified overtime.
*If you have an employment as a doctoral candidate, you are not eligible for additional time or overtime compensation.
